This article features Dr. Carmen Marsit, Director of CHARTER's development core, and Dr. Amina Salamova, a CHARTER pilot grantee. The article highlights some of the public health triumphs, such as the Food Safety Modernization act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, and the Back to Sleep campaign, which continually work to make the home more healthy and safe. It also discusses the environmental health risks that remain a threat inside the home, including endocrine disrupting chemicals, mold, radon, air pollution, and quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs).
